GOP as public anger mounts

Rachel Maddow explained the widening GOP rift on her show on Tuesday. Click image to enlarge.

AS THE GOVERNMENT shutdown drags into its third day today, there might just be some good news in all the devastation.
Signs are emerging in a number of quarters that the radical fringe group of Republicans in the House of Representatives that deliberately caused all the unnecessary suffering is itself beginning to feel the heat.
It has been a long time since the GOP was in such disarray.
House Speaker John Boehner was too afraid to bring a continuing budget resolution to a vote – because he feared enough Republicans would join the Democrats to pass a clean bill.
Now, more moderate Republicans are increasingly breaking ranks – and the “Eleventh Commandment:” Thou shalt not attack a fellow Republican.

GROSS MISMANAGEMENT: World’s only superpower lurches from crisis to crisis

US GOVERNMENT – AND PEOPLE – HELD HOSTAGE BY LUNATIC FRINGE
Few people on the planet can be unaware that the American federal government is on track to shut down in a few hours.
It’s all the fault of a crazy radical fringe group that has seized control of Congress.
What an embarrassment. Even worse, what an unnecessary calamity for the entire country, all its 330 million people, and the global community.

Health care reform debate to reach fever pitch

PUBLIC OPINION WAVERS AS GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN LOOMS
The battle over health care reform will reach fever pitch this week as Republicans in Congress tie repeal of it to a possible shutdown of the federal government.
President Obama’s signature accomplishment in office is not enormously popular with the American public.
As the debate deepens and the shutdown deadline looms, we can expect more heat than light.
It can only be hoped that the sane members of Congress prevail and keep funding the federal government as reform is rolled out fully over the next six months.

It’s all about posturing and catering to the radial right wing of the party, which is holding the entire country hostage. Damn the torpedoes!
It’s enough to make your head explode.

‘Sequester’ disaster arrives – just as predicted

ALL THE BLAME GOES TO THE GOP IN CONGRESS
As many have predicted, a disaster of gargantuan proportions is unfolding before our eyes as the effects of the so-called budget “sequester” ripple across America.
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says it is increasing unemployment and lowering GDP.
The lunatics responsible are ALL the Republican members of both the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.
The numbskulls in Congress that allowed the sequester to happen, and keep doing nothing about it must be as blind as bats.

GOP fears nothing more than Obamacare success (with video)

PARTY SPLITS AS RADICALS SEEK GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN
Republicans throughout the country are running scared. What do they fear the most? The success of President Obama’s signature accomplishment in office, sometimes called “Obamacare.”

So what is the poor GOP to do?
Get In the (K)now … here, now
