NOW THAT ATTENTION has shifted from the disastrous government shutdown, the problems with the rollout of part of the Affordable Care Act reforms are coming into full view.
They had been obscured for three weeks by the idiotic behavior if those who hate the plan the most: Tea Party Republicans.
Indeed, one important part of the system is struggling: the federal insurance exchange web site is groaning under the weight of its popularity.
But there is time to fix it, and officials are working ‘round the clock to do so.
It may be embarrassing to the president, but it is nowhere near the ‘disaster’ so many are claiming.

It is coming from its own base, the very constituency it thought it was serving by bringing the United States government to its knees – and threatening a global economic calamity.

POLLS FIND MOST BLAME GOP FOR MULTIPLE CRISES
Public opinion polls and other indicators show clearly that the Republican Party is losing the gargantuan battle is has deliberately sought over the federal government budget.
The GOP and its supporters must be willfully blind if they cannot see this. They are dragging the country to the brink of disaster, and getting the blame for it.
If they think this is the way to win the next election, they are beyond delusional. They are dangerously insane.

World watching as UN General Assembly begins

REALLY IMPORTANT ACTION MAY COME BEHIND THE SCENES
It has been widely reported that President Obama and the new president of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, are hoping to arrange a “casual encounter” … or perhaps even a formal meeting.
Rouhani won Iran’s presidential poll in June, promising reform and to put an end to Iran’s international isolation.
Indeed, whether it’s a formal meeting or a “chance” encounter in the hallway, any face-to-face meeting between the two leaders will mark an historic breakthrough.
