Vast right wing conspiracy exposed: NYT delivers indispensable journalism
Oct 7th, 2013 by Warren Swil

The most powerful men

you never heard of – till now

Charles Koch, declined comment to The New York Times. Click image to enlarge.

IF YOU WANT to know exactly whom to blame for the federal government shutdown – and the twin crises still heading our way – look no further than the front page of the Sunday editions of The New York Times.
The story’s headline could well have been: A shocking, vitally important expose months in the reporting.
It is a perfect example of the “indispensable journalism” for which I am privileged and delighted to pay to read in print and online every day.
Instead, the headline is A Federal Budget Crisis Months in the Planning
This should be required reading for every single man, woman and child in the United States.
Congratulations to Jill Abramson and the entire NYT.

Debt ceiling disaster already unfolding as shutdown continues

US TREASURY SAYS IT STARTS LONG BEFORE DOOMSDAY DEADLINE
The U.S. Treasury issued an alarming report that fallout from the next crisis would not wait until Doomsday on Oct. 17.

It is time for the crazy politicians to come to their senses.

DISSENT GROWS WITHIN GOP AS PUBLIC ANGER MOUNTS
Signs are emerging in a number of quarters that the radial fringe group of Republicans in the House of Representatives that deliberately caused all the unnecessary suffering is itself beginning to feel the heat.
With each passing day that the U.S. government remains shuttered, the internal pressures straining the Republican Party will mount as the American public grows increasingly disenchanted with its performance.
As long as the president and his party stay firm and refuse to negotiate such a fundamental issue as running the country properly, the chances of a split in the GOP will rise.
And that is good news for everyone.

GOP digs in over budget – for no rational reason

LUNATIC DEBT CEILING FIGHT WILL HARM ECONOMY, BUT RADICALS DON’T CARE
The looming budget battles in Congress are totally unnecessary and threaten to wreak havoc on an already fragile economy.
Republicans in the House of Representatives, pressured by far right-wing activist groups, don’t care.
It’s all about posturing and catering to the radial right wing of the party, which is holding the entire country hostage. Damn the torpedoes!
It’s enough to make your head explode.
